Faust's narrative chronicles their service... with detailed treatments of Stones River, Chickamauga, and Chattanooga. The maps are good and the research appears to be more than adequate. I purchased this book due to my great great grandfather being a member of this regiment

I purchased this book due to my great great grandfather being a member of this regiment. I wanted to learn more about what my grandfather experienced as a member of the 11th Michigan. The book did not disappoint. Mr. Faust obviously meticulously researched this book using the letters of members of the 11th Michigan to fill in many details as well as regimental records. The book contains many useful maps of the 11th Michigan's theater of operations as well as battle maps. In addition to the maps there are many photographs of the more prominent members of the regiment. I have a new appreciation for the sacrifices made by my ancestor and the other members of this regiment to preserve the union. Thank you to Mr. Faust for bringing the accomplishments of this volunteer regimental unit to light.
